The Lady Vols have made the NCAA Tournament — not that there was any doubt. Tennessee will be a No. 3 seed in the women’s tournament, which is set to begin this Sunday with the round of 64.
Tennessee will take on No. 14 seed MTSU in the opening round.

The Lady Vols landed in a brutal region, topped by No. 1 seed UConn. Baylor also landed in the region as a No. 2 seed, which would be Tennessee’s likely opponent should they reach the sweet sixteen. The winner of (6) Michigan vs. (11) Florida Gulf Coast awaits the Tennessee-MTSU winner.

The women’s tournament will be played entirely in Texas, just as the men’s tournament will be exclusively played in Indiana.
The Lady Vols finished the year with a 16-7 mark, advancing to the SEC semifinals before getting bounced by South Carolina. MTSU won the Sun Belt tournament, earning an automatic bid to the big dance. The Lady Raiders are led by former Tennessee point guard Anastasia Hayes, who averages over 26 points per game.
A tip-off time has yet to be announced.
