Tennessee vs. Florida: How to watch and game thread

NCAA Basketball: Tennessee at Auburn John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

It’s senior day for the Tennessee Volunteers, with the Florida Gators coming to town for the final regular season matchup of the year. Yves Pons will play his final game at Thompson-Boling Arena today, while John Fulkerson remains undecided about what he will do with his extra season of eligibility.

Today’s matchup is a big one, and it will finalize the SEC Tournament bracket. Tennessee can win their way to a No. 4 seed today, which would award them a double-bye later this week in Nashville. A loss would mean playing on Thursday as the No. 6 seed, following a win by Ole Miss yesterday. The Volunteers would take on South Carolina in that scenario.

Florida, now 13-7, can clinch the No. 4 seed with a win also. The Gators dropped a tough one to Missouri this week, putting Tennessee in striking distance. Florida absolutely smacked Tennessee in the first meeting down in Gainesville. The Vols are looking to right the ship today, something that they haven’t been able to do since conference play begin.

Needless to say, a win here for Tennessee would be a big boost for the Volunteers in the NCAA Tournament projections. After going 6-6 in their last 12 games, Tennessee is now projected as a No. 7 or No. 8 seed in most places. After a week off, let’s see if they can stop the bleeding this afternoon.
