One of Tennessee’s top targets in the 2022 class included the Volunteers in his new top five on Wednesday. Addison Nichols, a four-star offensive tackle out of Georgia, narrowed his choices down to Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, Florida and USC with the following graphic posted on Twitter.

Per 247Sports, Nichols is expected to take official visits to each school in June, when the in-person recruiting restrictions are expected to be lifted. His official visit to Tennessee is currently slated for June 18th.
Nichols stands in at 6-5, 305 pounds. The Norcross, Georgia native is the 103rd ranked player in the 2022 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. Nichols is the 12th ranked player in the state of Georgia and the third ranked guard prospect in the country.
One interesting note here — Nichols’ mother attended Tennessee, so he’s plenty familiar with the campus and the Knoxville area. The question is, can Josh Heupel and his new staff at Tennessee make a big enough impression on Nichols to close the deal?
New offensive line coach Glen Elarbee is the primary recruiter on this case, looking to make a big splash in Tennessee’s 2022 class, which currently features just two commitments.
