How many games can Tennessee win in 2021? It’s a question that I’m sure you’ve thought about by now — and quite frankly you’re probably not too sure on the answer. The Volunteers hit the reset button in a couple of different ways, going in a total different direction on philosophy with a new coaching staff, while also watching several key players leave via the transfer portal.
How this new group performs out of the gates is anyone’s guess, but unfortunately for Josh Heupel, his new roster will be learning on the fly in the thick of an unforgiving SEC slate. Your typical challenges await — Georgia, Florida, Alabama — and then a few toss-up games loom large.
Ole Miss, South Carolina, at Missouri and at Kentucky will likely define Tennessee’s 2021 record. Getting two of those games would put Tennessee on track to win six games, which seems like a realistic goal for Heupel’s bunch in year one.
Six is right on the Vegas win number for Tennessee. SportsBettingDime has placed the early number at 6.5 for the Volunteers, good for tenth in the league. Alabama led the way with 11, while Georgia led the east with a 9.5 number.
