The Tennessee Volunteers continue their march towards Omaha tonight, kicking off the Knoxville super regional series against the LSU Tigers. The Vols won their opening regional last weekend, advancing to the round of 16.
They’ll face a familiar opponent this weekend — one that they were able to sweep earlier this season in Knoxville. LSU took down the Eugene regional, storming back to rip off four straight wins to stay alive.
This is a best of three series, with the winner advancing to the College World Series next week in Omaha. Tennessee’s last appearance was all the way back in 2005.
