Tennessee is just one win away from the College World Series. Coming off of a 4-2 win over LSU on Saturday night, the Vols just need one more victory to close out the series and advance.
On Saturday, the Tennessee offense came alive in the bottom of the sixth following a walk and a double. Drew Gilbert, Luc Lipcius and Drew Gilbert each knocked in a run, pushing Tennessee out to a 4-2 lead. Sean Hunley would take over for Chad Dallas late, pitching three shutout innings to close things out.
Game No. 2 has been set for a 3 p.m. ET start, with ESPN2 carrying the broadcast. Tennessee will send Blade Tidwell to the mound to face LSU’s Landon Marceaux.
Tennessee will be looking for win No. 50 on the season this afternoon.
