It’s do or die fairly early in the going for two of the best teams in the country in Omaha. Tennessee and Texas, a couple of teams that spent nearly the entire year inside of the top five in the polls, will battle it out to stay alive this afternoon in the College World Series.
The elimination matchup was setup by a Tennessee loss to Virginia, and a Texas loss to Mississippi State. The winner of Tennessee-Texas will move on to face the loser of Mississippi State-Virginia on Thursday in another elimination game.
Tennessee has a little experience in this spot, storming back in the SEC Tournament after an opening loss to Alabama. Let’s see if these Vols can pull something similar off in Omaha, starting today.
