Tennessee makes top four for Texas OL Timi Gagophien

NCAA Football: Chattanooga at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

A new target has emerged on a the recruiting trail for Tennessee, following an offer sent out in May. Timi Gagophien, an offensive tackle prospect out of Texas, has now included Tennessee in his new top four, which was released on Sunday.

Ole Miss, Houston and Arkansas State joined the Volunteers on the list.

Gagophien is a three-star prospect out of Houston, playing for Alief Hastings High School. The 2022 prospect is ranked as the 686th player in the class, per the 247Sports Composite. The 6-6, 290 pound tackle ranks 62nd at his position nationally, and 99th overall in the loaded state of Texas.

Tennessee and Ole Miss currently stand as Gagophien’s only two power five offers to this point. Buffalo, East Carolina, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, Nevada, UNLV and Western Kentucky are just a handful of his other offers to this point.

Ole Miss in March and Tennessee in May are two of the more recent offers, so we’ll see if other big players get involved through the remainder of the summer months.

Tennessee currently holds a commitment from Brian Grant, another 6-6 offensive tackle prospect out of Florida. They’re also in a pretty good spot for Masai Reddick, another offensive tackle prospect who will commit later this week.

In total, the Volunteers hold six commitments in the class of 2022, currently good for 48th in the 247 national rankings to this point.
