Tennessee has made the cut for another top prospect, this time landing in the top ten of four-star defensive tackle Khurtiss Perry. The Montgomery, Alabama product updated his recruitment over the weekend, giving out a top ten.
Tennessee was joined by heavy-hitters from across the country.
Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas and UCF joined the Volunteers on his list.
Perry is a highly-ranked four-star defensive tackle, landing in the top 50 overall of the 247Sports Composite rankings. In fact, 247Sports has Perry ranked as the 29th player in the 2022 class — the second ranked player in the state of Alabama.
The 6-3, 267 pound prospect plays a variety of roles up front, which resulted in 15 sacks during his 2020 season. Perry also put up a staggering 58 tackles for loss, and actually took on some short-yardage running back duties.
Tennessee sent out a very early offer to Perry back in March of 2019. He has yet to take any of his five official visits, likely saving those for the fall. Auburn and Alabama hosted Perry on unofficial visits back in June. Perry has seen Knoxville at least one time before, joining the Volunteers for a Junior Day event back in January of 2020.
Perry currently has one crystal ball projection which points towards Alabama.
