The Volunteers currently have one piece of their 2022 puzzle in place after landing four-star point guard B.J. Edwards from Knoxville Catholic.
Hood-Schifino, a 6-5 combo guard out of Florida, is the 25th ranked player in the class, per 247Sports. The former Pittsburgh commit backed off of that pledge last summer, as more offers came his way. Miami, UConn, Arizona, Arizona State, Seton Hall, Kansas and Florida State are a few of his other offers.
Hood-Schifino took his official look at Tennessee in June, and is now ready to make his commitment announcement.
He’s one of several top-ranked targets that the Volunteers are chasing in this class, with Tennessee coming a true NBA pipeline. Five-star guard Cason Wallace and five-star forward Brandon Miller are also top targets, along with four-star forwards D’Ante Green and Dillon Mitchell.
Next week, Hood-Schifino’s decision will be the next domino to fall in Tennessee’s recruiting picture.
