As recruiting on the football side takes a breather ahead of the season, things on the basketball side continue to heat up. We’ve had quite a bit of news this week surrounding Tennessee’s 2022 class, and now we’ve got even more.

Five-star small forward Brandon Miller now has another official visit to Tennessee scheduled, following his first on June 8th. Miller will visit Knoxville again on September 10th, signalling that the Volunteers are in the thick of this battle.

Miller recently named a top eight consisting of Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee State, while also keeping professional options like the NBA G-League and the NBL in Australia on the table. Most thought Miller could be headed for one of those professional options, but that thinking has changed this week. Tennessee will have their final chance to prove that they’re the best option for his development next month.

The five-star small forward is the 13th ranked player in the 2022 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He comes out of Cane Ridge, Tennessee and is ranked as the top player in the state. The Volunteers have already landed the third ranked player in the state — four-star point guard BJ Edwards.

The 6-8, 200 pound small forward visited Kentucky, Alabama and Auburn during the month of June. Miller’s visit will come one week before five-star guard Cason Wallace, who is also taking a second official visit to Knoxville. Wallace is down to Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Miller’s frame and athleticism were built for the NBA — there’s a reason he’s considering the professional route right away. He’s a rim attacker offensively, and has the length to guard a few different positions on the floor. The upside is large here as he continues to develop on both sides of the floor.
