Will be the second straight start for Hooker after Joe Milton, who has been working back from an injury suffered in Week 2, started the team's first two games. https://t.co/3etVnC7fuY
I don’t think this is surprising news, necessarily, with Joe Milton’s health still perhaps in question. Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel waited until gameday to name Hooker the starter last week, too, as Milton is nursing an ankle injury sustained in the Pittsburgh game.
Milton was named the starter prior to the season, but he didn’t exactly light the world on fire with his play before his injury, and Hooker has played reasonably well filling in during Milton’s absence.
Both options certainly have their limitations, with Hooker, likely most alarming are his ball control problems. He’s lost two fumbles in basically a game and a half of starting at quarterback, and while he’s thrown five TDs to just one interception, his three total turnovers are cause for concern for a less-talented Tennessee team playing in a hostile environment.
