Tennessee basketball is almost back — thank goodness for that. After a down season in 2019-20, Rick Barnes has a squad that’s shaping up to be one of his best ever so far at Tennessee.
They’re going to have a little bit of a different feel from the Grant Williams and Admiral Schofield teams of 2017 and 2018, with a couple of elite prospects — Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer — entering the fold this season. They’ll join veterans Yves Pons, John Fulkerson, E.J. Anosike and Victor Bailey Jr. Second year guards Josiah-Jordan James and Santiago Vescovi could be set to make a leap forward.
This team is DEEP. They’ve got NBA talent at every level and have plenty of versatility. When it’s all said and done, this may be Rick Barnes’ best shot to make a deep NCAA tournament run.
Below, you’ll find all of our preview pieces and other news/notes for the upcoming season. We’ll keep them coming over the next couple of weeks, ahead of Tennessee’s opener on November 25th.
