"We talk about owning the football program, not renting it," Jones said. "We talk about the Power T. I'll be very candid with you: We had too many that didn't love the Power T, so to speak. They loved the power of the 'T'. We talk to our players about, it’s not loving the Power of the T and what Tennessee football can do for you, but it's the investment in that Power T. It's true love and affinity for this great institution."Butch Jones, from an interview with our old friend Brad Shephard at Bleacher Report
"But Evan has done a great job, and Evan’s one of those individuals where every practice he continues to get better and better and better."Jones: Vols' newcomers will be 'special'
Another Career High For Harris Tobias Harris set a new single-game career high with 27 points in Orlando's loss to the Rockets, topping the previous high of 23 points that he posted against the Kings on Wednesday. Harris, who was acquired from the Bucks at the trade deadline, has averaged exactly 20 points per game in the four games he's played for the Magic. Rudy Gay (20.5 PPG in 13 games with the Raptors) is the only NBA player who has appeared for more than one NBA team this season and has a higher scoring average for his current team than Harris.| Elias Sports Bureau

Lane said the Vols' running back corp plans to deliver a message in UT's SEC opener against No. 18 Florida on Saturday. "we're going to lead the SEC in rushing this year, no doubt," Lane said.Apparently, Lane has suffered a concussion and isn't thinking rationally. Lane was not among those Dooley made available to the media, so Lane made these crazy statements on his own. Just wondered to myself if Lane had watched any tape from the previous two games...
The recruiting of junior college football players is generally regarded as a desperate venture for an SEC school. But better to be desperate than in denial. Imagine how Tennessee's depth chart would look without its successful pursuit of junior college players. The front three on defense is all-juco. So is one of the safeties. And, now that All-SEC wide receiver and serial troublemaker Da'Rick Rogers has been suspended indefinitely, so is one of the starting wide receivers.John Adams: With Da'Rick Rogers suspended, Cordarrelle Patterson matters more than ever » GoVolsXtra
