Tennessee has been rebuilding its offensive line over the past few years and received a major boost this year with the addition of former Georgia Bulldog Cade Mays.

As we know, the NCAA’s transfer process can be tricky, so it’s not really surprising that there hasn’t been any news regarding a final decision on his eligibilty yet. Especially when one recalls last year’s Aubrey Solomon situation.

Austin Price of Volquest.com shed some insight on the situation Friday. He appeared on 104.5 The Zone’s Midday 180 and was asked by co-host Chad Withrow about Mays’ situation:

“I think that you’ll know something probably in the next week to 10 days on Cade Mays. Just talking to people, that’s kind of the time frame that I was given. But you know, again, it’s the NCAA. There’s no rhyme or reason on decisions. There’s no rhyme or reason on timelines.”

Mays’ addition would undoubtedly serve the Vols well and give the program one of the best offensive lines in history. The former five-star recruit started multiple games across the offensive line in Athens and is on the 2020 Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List.

Stay tuned for updates. You can check out the full interview with Price here.
